Democracy Player

I saw a post on BB about the new Democracy Player, and decided to download it to check it out. Pretty neat stuff, from what I’ve seen so far – it’s a free Internet TV app that combines the best of all worlds: open source, bit torrent, rss, etc.

Mostly, I’ve downloaded music videos (partly to check out videos to songs I know, but whose videso I haven’t seen; partly to check out artists I’ve heard a lot about, but haven’t heard/seen). Lots of other pre-installed categories, and I haven’t yet gone out to look for additional “channels” to add yet.

One interesting challen is Video Bomb: it allows users to post/link to videos, as well as vote on them. A bit like YouTube meets Digg, in some ways.

The neat thing is that recently posted videos appear on the Incoming section of the site; and if they garner enough “bombs,” they make their way over to the main page.

Of course, as I’ve been checking out the features – I decided that I’d upload my own video. Namely: the vide from 3 Years 3 Minutes. I haven’t done much promotion of the site/video lately… and overall site activity has dropped off, since the initial launch.

Should be interesting to see if it garners any attention at all, on Democracy/Video Bomb.

Definitely check out the Democracy player, and give it a whirl. There’s definitely some neat stuff to be seen/had, and I’m liking the app more and more, the more I use it.

And hey, if you happen to check out the 3 Years 3 Minutes video on Video Bomb (and you happen to like it)… I’d appreciate any votes you care to throw my way.
