Applescript: Success!

I feel good. Got my first decently complex Applescript under my belt. Granted, it’s pieced together from a lot of other sources, but I made my way through each one – methodically stitching and editing as needed.

It’s kind of ridiculous that I spent almost two days to get this done, but it feels really good. I feel like I accomplished a great deal, and I’ve gotten my Mac to automate a workflow that it didn’t/couldn’t do before. I like this feeling.

Here’s a quick shot of the books I got yesterday. In addition to the reference book on Applescript, I got some poetry by Yusef Komunyakaa and Ted Kooser.

For anyone interested in taking a swing at Applescript, I recommend the Missing Manual as a good intro to the language. Also, I found the macscripter.net site invaluable.
