Richard and Katherine, San Francisco Wedding

Flew in to San Francisco today with Liz, and it’s been pretty nonstop since the AM. We took the Blue Line to Clark/Lake, hopped on the Orange to Midway, boarded a plane to Oakland, hopped on a bus that took us to a BART station, hopped on BART, got into downtown San Francisco, hopped in a cab and arrived at our hotel. Just in time to check in, throw on some fancy clothes, and head to the church.

There were several “shuttles” that took people from the hotel to the church. We caught the absolute LAST bus there, and we were the only two on it. Talk about cutting it close. :)

My cousin (Richard) exchanging vows with Katie. Richard is a cousin of mine (on my mom’s side), and we haven’t seen one another in… man, over ten years? More? We used to come out to California a good deal when my sister and I were younger, but it’s been ages since we’ve all seen one another.

The wedding and really, the entire weekend was sort of like half wedding and half reunion. Good to see a lot of familiar faces.

Surprisingly, I kept my camera in the bag a good amount, and didn’t take as many pictures.

Cousins! L to R it’s my cousin Joanne, my sister Stacey and her daughter Jasmine, and my cousins Carolyn and Aileen (both of them Richard’s sisters).

Joanne stopped by a few months ago to visit. And like Richard, it’s been at least ten years or more since I’ve seen Aileen. I was standing across the room during the reception, looked over, saw her and saw her face light up on recognizing me (I didn’t have nearly as much hair on my head or face, the last time we met).

And here’s an interesting fact: the last time I saw Carolyn? She was visiting me and the two of us hit up the Taste of Chicago. In fact, her visit and our trip downtown was my first blog post, ever.
