Frankfort Fall Festival: Parade

This weekend, Liz and I went down to Frankfort to check out the annual Fall Festival. This year, I wasn’t part of the volunteers (like I was last year), so there was no waking up at 7:00 AM this time around.

Katie was singing the National Athem again this year, but by the time we showed up… the parade had already started, and had encircled Liz’s family’s house. We ended up having to park in a nearby field, and missed the opening ceremonies, song and all.

During the parade, there are lots of schools and bands represented.

As per usual, lots of folks also end up passing out flyers, and chotchkes.

There are also a ton of floats, promoting local businesses. This motorized shopping cart was by far one of the more technical of the entire parade.

Of course, the best thing that most people hand out… is candy. Almost every participant showered the streets with free candy, and kids scrambled alongside the road with bags in tow.

It’s like a pre-Halloween party.

I’m not sure exactly what’s going on here, but whatever it is… it’s intense!
