Working on a New Flash Project (Albeit Slowly)

Lately, most of my free computer time has been spent working on my next Flash-based project. Currently, I’m fairly close – I’ve got maybe 85% of it all done, and the remainder has to do with some small bits of functionality… and contending with the overall upload process.

I’m building an audio visualizers using the Echo Nest API. One of my last hurdles has to do with figuring out how to actually upload (through Flash) over to Amazon’s Storage Service.

Lately, it’s been more frustration than progress. Rather than have my hands deep in Flash creating things, I’ve found myself reading through documentation. Ugh. Necessary and all to get the job done, but… ugh.

I’m hoping to have something to show in the next week or so. Lately, I’ve only really had maybe an hour or so, early in the AM each day, to devote to this project. I’m moving at a snail’s pace, and most days it’s just plain frustrating as hell. Imagine having a great recipe you’ve created and want to try out; now imagine spending one day washing a green pepper; then the next day cutting that pepper; then the next day measuring out some salt. Etc.

Back to it then.
