History of the Internet – Video Using PICOL Icons
This video has been making the rounds lately, and I just got around to watching it this morning. Entitled The History of the Internet, it’s a pretty fantastic summary of how we went from Arpanet in the 1950’s and arrived at the Internet of today.
In addition to the video being terrific, a lot of the images are based on PICOL icons. The term PICOL stands for Pictorial Communication Language, and was created by Melih Bilgil as part of a Diploma/Graduate Project.
I love how one great project became the source and fuel for another. While I know a lot of sites are posting up this video, many overlook the fact that the iconography was originally a part of a separate endeavor by the author.
