The Day After the Day After the Wedding

I had planned on going in to work today, but ended up taking a personal day. I was still pretty wiped out by the wedding, and wanted to rest up a bit.

Liz and I spent the morning back at Maxim’s, and packing up a ton of things – gifts, decorations, and all the plates and glassware rentals. Liz’s sister, Tricia, hauled all the plates and glasses from Indiana (where we were able to rent them at a cheaper rate). And this morning, Tricia and Darryl came back from Indiana yet again, to help us pack up lots of stuff. All of us were also working with Liz’s stepmom, Anne, to get things packed up.

We packed up our car with all sorts of things, and dropped off a ton of extra food to the guys at work. By the time we got back to our apartment and unloaded everything, it was closer to 1:30 or 2:00 PM. Needless to say, I spent a good portion of the afternoon napping.

Sadly, we weren’t able to return to get everything cleared out of Maxim’s. So Liz is a bit on her own tomorrow, hauling out boxes of liquor and making returns to Costco and Sam’s. But we’re in the home stretch, and near to closing the door on the wedding portion of things… and about to start the honeymoon portion. A few more days until Thursday, and we hop on a plane bound for Paris.

Here’s a sneak peek at what our living room looks like, right now.
