Drinks with Matt and Tracy @ The Blind Robin

Earlier this week, I got to meet and catch up with some old friends – Matt and Tracy. Matt’s in town working on his Vagabond Chef project, and we got the opportunity to get together at a nearby bar – The Blind Robin.
It’s actually a great little bar, down near Western and Chicago. Must have been the fact that it was a Tuesday, but the place wasn’t crowded at all – which was surprising to me. Great little local bar.

Tracy and Matt. It’s been ages since I’d seen either of them (and sadly, Tracy’s husband Matt couldn’t join us this time around), so it was great to catch up since the last time we hung out. It’s always a good sign when you’re hanging out with folks, and having some pretty serious, deep belly laughs.
We talked a lot about Matt’s project, and his current Indiegogo campaign to help raise funds for it. He’s also stepped things up by getting an RV with his wife Katie, and so now the Vagabond Chef project has definitely taken a big step/turn.
In talking more with Matt, he and Katie are embarking on a pretty great adventure. Matt’s the kind of guy willing to push his chips into the table, and risk doing now what most of us dream of doing (when we’re older, later, when we have time). It’s a pretty remarkable kind of energy to be around, and I’m excited for him to reach his fundraising goal.
I’ve written a previous post about Matt’s campaign, but you can also go to the project site to find out more. I encourage you to swing by and check it out, and to kick in a bit of money if you can. As is true for every fundraising campaign I’ve mentioned on here… anything, any amount, helps out.
I had a blast with Matt and Tracy, hanging out again after so much time had passed. Matt and Tracy are old friends, and I got to hear a lot of funny stories from back in the day. Fun, fun night.

Note to self: they have a two pinball machines here: one is a newer Tron pinball machine, set for Tournament play – the other, an old school KISS pinball machine. Consider returning here with a roll of quarters.
