Sunday Work Day

On Sunday, Bob came by to set up two new floor joists. The prior joists had been headered multiple times, and not really doing much in terms of support. So he ended up removing the old boards, and replacing them.

Another view of the new boards.

He also cut some new cross braces, which I learned help prevent the joists from warping (due to the pressure). This guy is likely the happiest cross brace in the world.

While we were in the basement, Liz and Julie were working on tackling the woodwork and trim in the main hallway. Around 6PM, we all broke for an early dinner…

… using our new kitchen. Got some rice, veggies, and chicken going, thanks to our electric range and George Foreman grill.
