We Surprised One Another

Spotted this guy while walking home on Friday. Nearly missed him too, as I spotted a small set of eyes under a bush… and when I stopped, this guy walked out as if to say “Yeah, you found me.”

He was incredibly small, and not very afraid of me at all. We considered one another for a few seconds, and then he turned and slowly ambled off in the other direction. Which, if anyone else were watching our encounter… the same could have been said for me.

I know there are a lot of rabbits out in the suburbs, where there’s more green and more space to roam. It’s always surprising to see rabbits in the city – I got used to seeing them in Logan Square, but still getting used to seeing them in Hyde Park (which feels a little denser to me).
