Signs of Melting

I looked out the back window this morning, and was tickled to see this pattern of melted snow in the back yard.

I guess that only part of our yard gets sunlight, during the day… and the remaining snow is evidence of that trajectory. In the many winters we’ve seen in this house, I don’t think I recall seeing this pattern before.

I’m reminded that a neighbor’s soccer ball is still in our backyard, and I definitely need to return it.
