Late Night Snow
We had a lot of snow tonight, slowly building up over the course of the evening. To get ahead of things… I decided I wanted to go out around 11PM to shovel a bit. We were going to get a lot, so clearing the path a little before the morning felt like the thing to do.

Outside, I was struck at how quiet and serene things were. It was actually quite enjoyable.

I kept waiting for people to walk by, but no one ever did. There was a lone trail of footsteps in the snow, but that happened before I showed up.

While clearing the sidewalk and driveway was work, it actually felt nice and… dare I say, fun? Maybe that’s too strong – relaxing seems more appropriate. The quiet and stillness was something I really enjoyed. And being outside, after being indoors for days on end, was a nice change of pace.
Even if I was only a few feet away from my house, I was outside my house. For a little while.
