Remote remote work

We were expecting some loss of power today at the house, but weren’t sure exactly when or for how long. Because Liz and I both had a lot of meetings today, we opted to drive downtown and worked remotely at her office building at DePaul.

Underground parking.

While there were seemingly a ton of people around, we passed several liminal spaces along the way.

I failed to actually take any photos of the office/work area. Just got too focused on work, it seems.

For my work, people are being encouraged to return to the office. The challenge for me is that I’m still not super comfortable with the idea of returning to work. We go out to eat once a week, and I’m ok with that risk… but the idea of being around other people 8+ hours a day, feels too… soon?

At Liz’s building, most of her office is in the process of packing up and transitioning to 100% remote. I got to hole up in a small office (and had the door closed pretty much all day).

Definitely felt weird to be in a new place. Working remote, from a remote location.
