Slumbering Roses

Liz was out in the yard today, doing some preliminary cleanup. We’ve had a spate of good, warm weather… and though we expect it to get colder soon, she’s been taking advantage of the extra sunlight and the extra warmth.

We walked around the yard briefly tonight, at dusk. The roses are starting to stir, and hopefully will wake up soon.

The plan that Liz had was for these roses to grow up along our arbor, and eventually envelope it. She’s planning a few years ahead, but so far so good.

I forget how much work this arbor was. And sometimes, I take for granted how lovely it truly is. There are blemishes and flaws to be sure, but it’s turned out to be one of our better team projects.
