Sia: Snowman

My “Liked Songs” playlist started playing a few days ago, a collection of every song or album that I’ve added to my library on Spotify. It’s a large collection of songs, and oftentimes I’ll hear something that I have absolutely no memory of adding.

One such song: Snowman, by Sia. I recognize the artist (but mostly from a vague memory of her song, Breathe Me, from an eon ago).

I know little about her recent work, and was surprised to find that she released a Christmas album. And apparently, I liked one of the songs? Have a listen:

I think I got hooked with the key changes:

I’ve listened to it a ton of times, and can’t quite seem to place the actual keys. Reminded me of the song “One Heart”, in terms of another song whose key changes I found fascinating.

Suffice it to say, it’s been weird to have a Chrimstas song on repeat, in my head, in late May. But here we are.
