The Teskey Brothers: Pain and Misery
The Teskey Brothers appear in my “Liked” playlist, though I don’t really recall ever liking them. Or where I first heard them. But I have to say, I do love this song immensely, and I definitely understand why I clicked that “like” button.
There’s a strong echo of Sam Cooke that I hear, whenever I listen to this song. It’s enough to evoke him, but things stop shy and do a brief detour… where it feels sadder, more melancholy than I would expect from Cooke.
There’s a lot of chin down, head nodding, whenever I listne to this song.
I’ve been in love, honey, you know it’s true
Well, since that day I first laid my eyes on you
Love is a crazy game, baby, it’s how I feel
It can make you, oh, so high, but it takes so long to heal
Well, since that day I first laid my eyes on you
Love is a crazy game, baby, it’s how I feel
It can make you, oh, so high, but it takes so long to heal
Definitely need to check out more of their work. That is, as soon as I’m able to exorcise this song from my brain and remove it from my loop.
