Hugo and Penny: Grooming

I realized I haven’t posted much, around the bonding sessions so far with Penny and Hugo. They’ve gone fairly well (except for one instance, where there was a bit of bickering and some fur lost).

This is from one of the more successful sessions, between the two.

Hugo ended up caving, and was grooming Penny. I think we’re all still waiting to see if there is reciprocation or not. So far, it’s just been one direction.

I think Penny does like Hugo, but she’s quite young. It’s hard to know if she knows how to actually be a bunny, or if she’s going to settle down enough to be relaxed around Hugo.

She’s done ok in sessions, but sometimes has a “freak out” moment where she just seems to get scared, for no reason. And then runs around a lot. It’s challenging to pin down, and even more challenging to anticipate/dissipate.

For now, this one positive session gives us some hope.
