Hot Licks

Cloudy is a bunny rabbit that just really, really loves people. Liz and I have both noticed that she will oftentimes tuck in when we’re nearby, and proceed to lick/groom us given the chance.

We’ve gotten occasional licks from our bunnies, but it’s few and far between. It’s a rare occurrence, so you know.

But with Cloudy, she gives it away like candy.

Liz and I are not used to this happening. And whenever it does, we shout out to one another to announce its occurrence. We’ll yell out “Hot Licks!” to let the other know that Cloudy is grooming us, and that Cloudy really, really likes us.

It’s difficult to describe: imagine a soft, moist pencil eraser that’s been gently microwaved. It’s the tiniest, perfect little expression of love that I can imagine.
