Amadeus
Alex and I talked about seeing Amadeus for a long while together, back when it got re-released to the theaters. Unfortunately, we never saw it together… until this evening. Amadeus is one of the first DVD’s I purchased, and tonight was just a fun time getting immersed in a great movie.
I hadn’t seen Alex in a long, long while. We talked extensively before the movie, and got caught up a bit on mutual friends and past events. One thing we discussed that caught my attention was "Internet Dating." Apparently, he’s been doing that a bit, as has our friend Stu – and the two of us debated both pros and cons for a good long while. Out of any of our immediate group, I’m probably the last person who should be expressing doubts about meeting people "online." But I feel there’s some residue from print that I have, some stigma that gets carried over.
Our friends Kent and Christine met online, and my invitation to their wedding arrived not a week ago.
Lately, I’ve been thinking more about this whole blog, online personas, and all that good stuff. After talking with Alex, I’m intrigued at the idea of meeting similar people with similar interests online, but am very, very wary. An interesting notion that I’m not, as yet, sold on.
