Strange Game – the Only Winning Move is Not to Play

Watched Wargames today, as a sort of lunch break from the computer. Got the DVD when I ran some errands this morning. Enjoyable, and a nice "ah, I remember this" sort of movie. But now that I’ve watched it again, almost ten years after it came out… Stephen Falken sorta creeped me out. When he goes into that dissertation about the dinosaurs, he’s just stubbornly nihilistic.

And the helicopter scene? Where he’s chasing them down with a spotlight? What’s up with that? When you stop to think about it, Stephen Falken comes off as a bitter loner who, when comfronted with a pair of terrified teenagers, proceeds to mindfuck them even further.

All in all, still fun to watch.
