Assisting Romance Is Better Than No Romance

All of us got into this interesting conversation about Valentine’s day, and the likelihood of pleasing the "significant other." Ben had planned on spending the evening making dinner with his wife… and joked that the only way they could go "out" to eat was if they found a sitter. Or if I volunteered. To his surprise, I said I would.

In fact, Justin and I were both talking about baby-sitting… just so Ben and Laura could get some time together, away from the house.

So tonight, I’m a baby-sitter.

All in all, it was pretty fun. Emmett was already sleeping (or close to sleeping) when I arrived, and so I spent a few hours sitting on Ben’s couch, eating some Thai food I ordered, and watching Ben’s DVD movies/cable TV. I watched an episode of Oz, which I had heard about but never saw (since I don’t have cable). Then, as if God wanted to have a little fun with me, I stumbled across the beginning of Romeo + Juliet, and watched that for about an hour.

Ben and Laura’s place is really quite gorgeous. In my mind, I got to hang out in a nicer pad and watch some nicer TV than I’m used to. :)
