Names, v. 2.0

Another thing my mom and dad mentioned… was that sometimes, academics literally changed their names. When they became educated, oftentimes they completely changed their names so as to avoid their families being punished for their thoughts/writing.

On top of that, journalists often used different names (not their real names) when writing articles. For most local papers, the writers would adopt a particular nickname or psuedonym, when publishing their articles. Most of the readers would recognize the authors, but wouldn’t know who the actual person was.

By the way. Have I mentioned how I frequent a Flash-based forum, posting under the name Portnoy? And how many many other folks, from all across the world, also post there?

:)
