Travelling

As I was updating the blog over the weekend, I started thinking more about the process of travelling from one place to another. I was reminded of a phrase cited to me by a fellow writer, back when I was attending the CW Program at OSU. I forget if it was a student, citing a professor… or if it was a professor citing another author, but the phrase has stuck with me.

Basically, it’s something like this: There are only two plots in the world, for all fiction. Any story, all stories… follow one of two scenarios: man goes on a trip; man comes to town.

I find this saying humorous and something I ended up kicking around in my head for many months. Eventually, I ended up trying my hand at writing a poem, using that specific phrase. This was around the time when I was getting into Flash a bit more too, and I ended up pulling this idea into the program and taking a stab at animating it.

Tonight, I mucked around with that old .fla file (I seem to be doing that lately) and decided to post it on the blog. I’m filing it under the experiments section, for want of a better place.
