Drinks with Anne and John

The last time we hung out, Anne and I talked about coordinating our respective party plans for the upcoming weekend of March 10-11. One of her brothers turns 21, and my birthday is on the 9th. I’m still not sure what I’m doing yet for my celebrations, but Anne and I had a few emails back and forth.

Tonight, I got invited to go hang with Anne, her brother John (who I met last August), and his girlfriend Jane.

Her apartment was really something else. Amazing view of the lake, and I found myself constantly drawn to the window.

Pretty lights.

John took my camera for a test drive, and snapped a few shots. Here’s one he took of Jane. Notice the bottle of Knob Creek on the left there? Make a note of it.

Another interior shot. I dug the red.

Jane and John (and I think that’s Mindy, perched over on the left).

After hanging out at the apartment for a good while, we walked over to… Holiday! I was surprised when I first heard this was where we were heading. Holiday used to be right down the street from me, and a place I’d go to hang out with Liz, Steph and Chelsea.

Weird to see it in this new location, and weirder still to be inside it. Just didn’t feel the same as the old location… maybe that’s because noone here tried to give me a breathalyzer.

We got drinks, sat down… and John and I ended up shooting a game of pool. I don’t recall much of the game, but I’m fairly certain I played poorly. I sank a few ok shots, but I wasn’t at my prime.

Two drinks later, the lights are coming on and they’re kicking everyone out. It’s weird that I’ve closed down so many bars lately… but I think it’s due to late starts, where we’re not heading out until 10 or 11 PM.

We walk down the street aways, and catch a cab. Well, almost everyone walks.

Fun, fun evening tonight. Glad I got to hang out with Anne a bit more, and really enjoyed seeing John again, after all these months.
