Penny Arcade Game Released: On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness (Episode One)
I’m a big fan of an online comic called Penny Arcade. While I have a love of video games, I’m not sure I necessarily classify in the “gamer” category. The jokes and subject matter on PA often contain references to games that only die-hard gamers might catch. Even though I get only about 50% of the jokes… I still love the comic, and it’s one of the sites that I visit daily. While part of the time the comics are very game-specific, other times it’s just quite simply a good comic, with a lot of humor.
Recently, they launched their own video game (this was news to me). I was able to download the demo, and so far it’s a good deal of fun. Note that you won’t be able to save your progress playing the demo… but it’s still a ton of fun, nonetheless.

The game has a distinctly cartoon-esque feel, complete with scenes that animate based on a comic book layout. The audio is great, the animation is wonderful, and the whole game has this cartoonish-steampunk kind of feel to it.
I’m moments away from buying the full version of the game. If you’re interested, by all means download the Demo and give it a whirl.
