Post-Work Client Party in the Office
All week this week, we’ve had a ton of visitors in the office. With an upcoming meeting tomorrow, a ton of our clients were in town, and gathered for a post-work party in the office. Around 4:30PM or so, people started setting up tables, a DJ arrived, the caterers set up the bar area and took over our mailroom.
First to get moved: the ping pong table.
DJ and bar.
In our mailroom, the caterers set up shop. It’s amazing how much food came out of this small, tiny space.
Folks getting their drinks, chatting. Our clients didn’t officially arrive until around 6PM or so.
A small bit of soup as an hors d’oeuvre. Which I totally could not spell and had to look up. Interestingly enough, the term in French literally means outside of work.
I can’t help but be reminded of those tasty grilled cheese + tomato soup appetizers, from the Q101/Loop holiday party (2005, 2006).
Group shot from above.
I took a few photos here and there, but mostly spent my time chatting with folks. I got to meet several clients, and it was definitely cool to hear (directly) from our customers. Working where we do, it’s easy to get lost in the day to day – site launch processes, sprints, support cases, new development. It was neat to hear how people viewed our product (and our company), and quite flattering to boot.
Near the close of the evening, we had a group portrait arranged. It was a 360 deal, so folks who weren’t near the camera had to get positioned up on the desks.
Nick, standing on his desk and doing his best “Oh Captain, My Captain.”
Group portrait from where I was standing, over by Allison and TJ’s area.
Post-post-work-party, talking with AJ, James, Justin near Phil’s desk.
You guys are so cool. I wish my office had a dj come in just once!
