Deadline Approaching: London and a Year Kickstarter Project
Brian’s Kickstarter Project, London and a Year, is in it’s final days. With the deadline nearing, he’s still trying to reach his goal to finance what I know will be an amazing book of photos and essays.
To underscore his seriousness and to encourage others to contribute, if he meets his Kickstarter goal… he’s also pledged to donate $1,000 to his own money to the ACLU and additional $1,000 to the World Food Programme.
Brian is a very quiet, humble kind of guy. He’s not the sort of guy to toot his own horn, but I know he’s been hitting Twitter and email constantly, trying to get word out, asking folks to help share links. I know, deep down, this kind of self-promotion is distasteful to him… but he’s been at it, pushing and pleading and emailing, trying to get it done.
If you know Brian, then this kind of fierce determination comes as no surprise. In addition to his skills as a writer and photographer, it’s what would make his book an incredible one.
If the book could have come about through focus, through Brian’s sheer force of will… I think we would have seen the book on Day 1. Sadly, that’s not how things work and for the book to come through… he needs your help.
Please take a moment and look over his Kickstarter Project. If you’re interested in seeing more of his work, I encourage you also to check out his site, which features many more photographs.
If you’re not able to donate, I’d ask that you help spread the word. While funds are what will make this project happen, the next best currency is attention: the more people and the more computer screens he reaches, the better his chances.
Here’s an easy way to help: share the project with your circle of influence. You can share it on Facebook or share it via Twitter.
In the days leading up to the deadline, Brian can use any and all the help he can get. Cross your fingers for him. Or better yet… click your mouse for him. Every little bit helps.
