Mutemath: Prytania
Things have been busy at work lately, to where most of my days have me with headphones on and music playing (well, when I actually remember to turn on the music). When there’s a set amount of work to be done and I want to focus, I invariably lock onto a song or two on repeat. Sometimes, it’s a whole album… but whatever it ends up being, I tend to prefer a perpetual loop of music during these times.
One of the songs I’ve had on loop is Prytania, by Mutemath. I first stumbled across the band a few years ago… and while they’re not a group I would expect to like, I found myself returning to their album Odd Soul for a handful of songs I seem to have gotten stuck on.
Is it weird that I’m not driven crazy by the same song(s) on endless loop? I seem to gravitate more towards this when I have a lot of work to get through, as it seems to help block everything else out save the things I’m concentrating on. It seems like a terribly OCD thing to do, but I guess for me it’s a productive OCD thing to do.
Speaking of which – lunch break is over. Back to work.
