Chicago Artisan Market
Got some free tickets to the Chicago Artisan Market, courtesy of Alex and Linda (they were planning on being a vendor there). Unfortunately, they didn’t end up making it… but despite missing the chance to catch up with Linda/Johanna… we did get to browse around a pretty great event.

On the way there, spotted this on the sidewalk. There were also lime wedges every 10 feet or so, which made for an interesting backstory. I love how you can pretty much tell someone hit a wall, late in the night, and decided… no more.

At the entrance to the Chicago Artisan Market.

A really big space, with a lot of vendors.

A turntable and wine storage combo. Looking at this thing, I immediately started to wonder how we might try to build something ourselves, that would double as a music and whisky story unit.

A larger vendor area, full with sun and customers.

A really fun note and table caught my eye: “Poems While You Wait.”

I learned that this was an org that’s been around for a while. The cost of a poem were treated as donations (though I can’t recall the exact name of the press they were raising money for).

I had an encounter on one of my recent runs, and have been thinking about it ever since. I decided it was a good topic for a poem, and wanted to see what someone might do with the idea.

Near the entrance, I realized that one of the poems was written by this group!

Liz, perusing some candles.

And also finding some pottery items.

A lot of small purchases.

As we were walking around, we encountered this rather cute and rotund gentleman.

Of course Liz had to stop for some pets.

My bespoke poem!

And the nearby, adjacent poem wasn’t too shabby either.
