New Office, Clean Office

On arriving home, I hung out with Liz downstairs for a bit (she was home with the day off). I walked upstairs some time later, and on getting to the top of the stairs… looked in and noticed the back bedroom was brand spanking clean!
Some context: the back bedroom is pretty small, and maybe has enough room for a bed, but not much more. It technically fulfills the definition of a bedroom in Chicago (closet and window), but the closet is mostly a nominal one. Imagine jamming a door so that you cover the corner of a room. That’s pretty much what this is.
So in the meanwhile, I’ve set up a desk here for my computer. And we’ve also been using this back office as a kind of glorified closet (lots of suitcases and boxes of clothes we had kind of half-unpacked).

Imagine my surprise when walking up – everything is off the floor, the entire room is cleared, and my desk is moved over! And there’s also a new metallic clothes hanger thing, with all our clothes set up!
In case it didn’t register – not only did Liz do all this herself, but she also did it all on her day off!
It really feels like a room again here, and it’s lovely. I had gotten used to the messiness, as that’s kind of been the state of our place. But it really does feel like an actual room again, which is a lovely thing.
