Light at the Golden Hour

Went outside before heading to work, to take another look at the gorgeous tree in our neighbor’s yard.
From inside our house, I noticed the red creeping over towards the other half of the tree. So I wanted to go and see the progression of color. Outside, I discovered that several of the leaves have already fallen – with the outlines of branches now visible.
It’s fall, so it’s not unexpected. But I did find it surprising. I guess in my head, I imagined the tree would shift from one color to the next, and then the leaves would slowly fall away.
I guess the takeaway here for me is that change… is asynchronous. It’s asymmetrical. And oftentimes never quite what we imagine it will be.
