Novo Amor & Ed Tullett: Faux

I’d heard this song before, Faux by Novo Amor and Ed Tullett, and even had it in my Spotify collection. But it wasn’t until I was listening to a random autumn playlist that it caught my attention again this week. I’ve been playing it ever since.

I’ve found this song really pleasant to code to. It builds gradually, and swells near the end – but it’s never too distracting. At least, it hasn’t been distracting to me. In fact, I’ve found myself turning it up louder and louder until it’s all I can hear.

There’s something about the pacing and the tempo of the build that seems to just click really well for my brain. The cadence of it all seems to help. Even with the crescendo and loud volume, I find myself getting lost when I listen to it. Even as I’m working, I feel like I’m disappearing a little bit.

This also strikes me as a song very suited for Fall. I imagine being out on the back porch with my computer, working on a tumbler of scotch, listening to this on repeat for an afternoon.

Although… maybe I should imagine that with headphones. Because given my threshold for repeating the same song over and over, I’d likely drive the neighbors crazy.
