Surprise Pie

Our neighbors Bernie and Carol Jean were out of town a bit last week. During that time, Liz and I gathered their mail and helped take out the trash on Sunday night… nothing big, just small “out of town” things that neighbors do.

Last night, we were surprised by a visit from both Bernie and Carol Jean. They stopped by with a strawberry rhubarb pie (that we ended up having with dinner). Lucky Bob, as he was over and got a few slices as well!

Bernie and Carol Jean were the ones who came over with some baked bread, on one of our first nights here at the house. We definitely feel very lucky to have them nearby.
