Daily, Weekly

Well, this was going to be a “this daily blog is starting to feel like a weekly blog” post. But as I was looking back over things, I guess I already did that… back in August.
I’ve had a tendency to start my work days a bit earlier (logging in around 8AM). And I’ve failed to really start the days off (or end them) with a post. In the event I wake up earlier than planned, I’ll just start work a bit earlier.
The fact that I now have an easier way to literally switch contexts between work/home, I really haven’t taken advantage of that much. It seems I need to break out of this new habit of weekly posts, which has turned into an old habit, and replace it with something… new.
Ok, that was a terrible sentence but you know what I’m saying here.
For both me and Liz, work has tended to be all-consuming. We’re working pretty solidly throughout the day, and oftentimes a few hours past the end of the work day. And working late a few nights a week is more the norm, than the exception.
I keep mentioning walks and keep not taking them. Our routine has us doing a lot of the same things, and a majority of that routine revolves around work.
Thinking on this more: work is and has been the external stimuli for us during the pandemic. And because of that has a way of becoming all-consuming.
Looking at the days going into the end of December, and the start of January and a new year. Here’s to finding new habits, and a return to a daily bit of reflection. And less of the mad-dash attempt to do a ton of posts, recapping the last week, in one shot.
