More Time with Destiny 2

Ok, so I lied previously. While I haven’t really cared for the free games that come with Stadia Pro, I’ve put in a bit more time into Destiny 2.

I also realized that I added a ton of photos to my laptop recently, and turning off my “continuous backup” settings seemed to help the latency/pixellation issue. Not great, but better.

Side note: I heartily recommend backing up your data offsite, using a service like Backblaze. If you end up liking what you see at Backblaze, consider signing up with my referral code (you get a month free, and I do as well).

While I still like the quality levels I get from playing games through Steam (the ones that my Mac can actually play well)… it’s nice to be able to just open a tab and fire up Destiny 2. Particularly now that I’ve discovered the “Gambit” game type (reminds me a lot of Team Fortress 2’s “Payload”), which is nice for a brief shot of multiplayer action, in roughly 10 minute increments.

I will say this – the cinematic scenes are still very enjoyable. I got to meet/experience the charater Cayde-6, whose dialogue reminded me a lot of Nathan Drake, from the Uncharted series.

There’s some interesting baner that happens prior to the above scene, but very Nathan Darke-esque.

// Edit: Doing some digging, it turns out Nathan Fillion voiced the character in earlier versions of the game. Which is appropriate since most Uncharted fans think Fillion would be for the role, should the game ever transition into a movie.

Also? I guess that was Nolan North who voiced Cayde, which now makes the whole Uncharted thing make even more sense.

I’m honestly not that into gaming. Weird that I know some of these tidbits.
