Comic Book Suggestions

Looking for some suggestions for multi-volume comics worth reading/buying. Particularly with some travel coming up and a lot of dead in-between time… I’m curious if anyone has a good storyline/run they’d suggest.

For me, the ones I’ve thoroughly enjoyed (and re-read numerous times) include Secret Invasion, Joss Whedon’s Astonishing X-Men run. Writers I like include Jonathan Hickman, Brian Michael Bendis, and Brian K. Vaughan.

I like binging on a big long story at once. I got into comics after being introduced to Sandman in college, and ever since… I just like having a solid volume to go through at my leisure.

While I feel like I’ve read a lot of comics in the last 5 years, I still don’t feel like I know what to be searching for. Marvel Unlimited always feels twitchy to me: short bursts. It feels like trying to eat a 5 course meal with toothpicks.

I’ve preferred to just buy collections/volumes en masse to read, but I confess that sometimes it feels like a gamble.

Any suggestions? I’m all ears.
