Duo Ruut: Tuule Sõnad
Estonian musicians Ann-Lisett Rebane and Katariina Kivi form Duo Ruut, whose name roughly translates to “Duo Square.” The two play a single Estonian zither in tandem, and I find their melodies/harmonies both haunting and inviting.
I don’t speak the language, and don’t understand the lyrics. But I’m drawn to this song, and found myself really enjoying it. Despite the language barrier.
I’ve started following them on Spotify. Looking forward to discovering more of their music.
