Morning Walk: Fence Analysis

On our morning walk, we stumbled across a lost set of keys. Tucked within the green, they look weathered, like they’ve been here a long while – waiting. I wondered if their owner will ever find them, if these keys will ever again meet the locks they are bound to.
Maybe in autumn, when the leaves fall away. And a random walk. And a random glance.

Nearby, Liz and I paused at this fence and started to talk about its construction. We looked all around, trying to figure out how it was assembled, how it was built.
I was surprised to see pocket holes, and wondered if there were some other way to affix these boards. The pocket holes didn’t look great to me, but… I’m on the wrong side of the fence.
Who cares what it looks like out here – it’s what it looks like inside that matters.
We marveled at how straight and level the fence top was. It’s better than we’ve done, but hey… we’re still on our first fence.
