Rediscovering Star Trek: Discovery

I recently re-watched the first two seasons of Strange New Worlds, in preparation to watch Season 3. And now that I’m mostly caught up, I decided to go back and give Star Trek: Discovery another chance.
I recall liking the show at the start, but things kind of went off the rails further into the series… and enough so that it made it problematic for me to continue watching.
I referred to this series as “The Crying Show,” because it seemed that at some point… there were numerous episodes where someone would end up at an emotional state, where they were brought to tears. This happened with enough frequency that it ended up turning me off the show.

Season 1, Episode 6: a precursor of things to come.
I do have to say – the first episode so far is just stellar. Lots of great action, lots of incredible special effects. Really solid all around. I’m just… waiting for the shoe to drop.
I’ll also say – the intro to Star Trek: Discovery is by far one of the most beautiful intros, out of all the series. Really lovely.
