Terry Tate, Where Are You?

The new Grubhub office is large and, honestly, quite luxurious. There are numerous kitchen areas (our office spans the entire length of the Mart)… and coffee options aplenty in each one.

There’s drip coffee, which isn’t… great. But hey, the price is right.

Additionally, we have staff that make the rounds across the office – stocking all the various things that are available: snacks, coffee mugs, dishes, and even the coffee. As offices go, we are quite pampered.

That said, I think most folks at the office just assume someone else will refill the coffee when it’s empty. I’ve come up to the coffee a few times now, only to find them empty.

Maybe it’s the developer mindset: see a problem, fix a problem. Noticing something is empty (with the potential to impact others), and just leaving it be seems… wrong. The challenging thing is – all the tools are just right there, for anyone else to kick off a new pot.

Oh Terry Tate: Office Linebacker, how I miss you.
