Coding with Claude Code

I’ve been using Claude Code a lot more, recently and it’s been… very interesting, very eye-opening.

So far, this has been more experimentation on my end. I’ve got a personal project in mind, and I’m doing most of the work via Claude Code (or rather, Claude Code is doing most of the work). I’m mostly just providing guidance and follow-up steps.

I think the comparison folks have made has been to think of Claude Code as a very competent Junior Developer, who sometimes goes wildly off the rails. And needs guidance back to sanity.

So far though, for a personal project – I’m curious how to just get the thing to work. I’m not as concerned about structure, though I’m trying to guide how the project data should be stored (config files, data between user / AI, etc).

What I’m doing still feels like baby steps. I think Claude has better design chops than me (but that may be due to my adding the frontend-design skill) to the project.

I will say – I’m definitely further along using Claude, than if I were to try to do things myself, manually. I can see the appeal, I can see the benefits.

In the last few weeks, I’ve just started to dive more into AI – both for work, and for personal projects. It’s most certainly an interesting time to be a developer.
