Remote Birthday Cake

Liz is away in Georgia, hanging out with Tricia as she recovers from a procedure. Unfortunately, the timing of things has it so that she’s away today (my birthday).

That said – I got a surprise link from her, notifying me that a gift is en route. A bit later, there’s a knock on the door.

Lo and behold – remote birthday cake delivery! Cheesecake (my favorite) and also Red Velvet (another favorite).

It’s a strange thing/association, but my childhood friend/neighbor Aaron – his mother always made red velvet cake for birthdays in the family. And I was over enough for these occasions that I think I developed a taste for it as well.

What a lovely gift to get, from so far away (I’ll look past the fact that this got delivered by our competitor).
