Penny Prevention
Penny has taken to escaping from her pen. This was some while ago, and our remedy for that was to drape a bed sheet over her pen area.
Side note: it’s quite remarkable that she escaped. I don’t think it was a straight hop – I think she Spider-Manned the walls and then threw herself over the top, like she was running a military obstacle course.
Anyhow. I’m realizing now that I never took photos of the setup. But it’s a moot point, because the bed sheet was tenuously held in place with some clips. The thing sagged, and from time to time, would get loose and fall in.
After a few instances where the thing fell down (and part of the bed sheet got soaked due to it landing in the water dish, and another part got soaked due to Penny peeing on it)… I decided another solution was needed.

This… is a bit overkill. But it was a hastily-thrown together setup, that seems to be holding. For now.
My first attempt was to stitch together a bunch of moving boxes with duct-tape, and draping that across the pen. I have no idea what I was thinking, because all I did was make a device that had multiple hinges.
On placing it at the top of the pen, the thing fell to earth like a deflated balloon.
From there. I added some supports in the form of some foam board insulation that was leftover from our cold prep work.
It’s definitely overkill, but gets the job done. I don’t think she can find a way to break out of this, but… I don’t put it past her. She’s trouble
