Upstairs Drywall, Day 5: Sanding, Primer
Expecting a mess today, with a lot of drywall dust in the air from sanding. Woke up early to try to get things covered up as best we can.

After a full day, Liz and I were in awe walking around the upstairs. There’s still more to be done, but comparing how fast the two of us work versus a professional was… humbling.
While I was at Home Depot early this AM, I opted to buy a handsaw (something we actually didn’t have at home). This ended up being the right tool for the job. Just a bit more elbow grease than anticipated.
We’ve got an eventful weekend, with a bit of prep work to do before we have drywallers coming on Monday to tackle a good part of the second floor. Before they get here, we have some fine-tuning to do.
Got another good house night in today, after work. With some serious cold temps coming soon, I wanted to get more insulation on the walls by the stairs (every little bit helps). The main challenge here is that a scaffold is required, to be able to reach the high angle of the ceiling, near the base of the stairs.
Put some time in after work, and threw in some Great Stuff foam along the stairway walls. I had to get the scaffold in place to reach everywhere, but I’ve found I’ve gotten much faster with the setup and breakdown of that guy.
