Drywall Prep
We’ve got an eventful weekend, with a bit of prep work to do before we have drywallers coming on Monday to tackle a good part of the second floor. Before they get here, we have some fine-tuning to do.

I’ve patched them up as best as I could, but about time to throw this old pair of gloves out.

Cutting up a bit of plywood, to finish off some wall re-enforcement from a while ago.

Liz, cleaning up the space before our dry fit.

We ended up needing two pieces, but got things situated pretty well.

Next up: we had some overhang from the pocket doors that we needed to trim down, so that we could get drywall flush against this wall. This was an interesting challenge for us, and our first attempt at kerf cutting at such a large scale.

Definitely a good workout for the arms. Liz and I switched off, taking turns.

Made a bit of a mess.

It’s not pretty, but we’re removing material.

While once person was using the circular saw, the other person was standing by with the shopvac.

Liz, doing some cleanup work with the multitool.

It’s not perfectly smooth, but it’s good enough.

Slightly closer view.

One challenge – this bit near the base of the stairs. Something I’ll need to tackle from the basement.
