Reminder

So, two days ago, my mom and dad explain to me that it’s customary, on one’s birthday, to perform an "act of kindness." In China, people (on their birthdays) would purchase turtles and set them free. This was considered a good thing since, othewise, the turtles would have been eaten.

I looked around on Sunday, but didn’t get a chance to do anything remotely "kind." Maybe that’s why I ended up giving money to everyone who asked me for change today. I passed a guy on the Damen/North/Milwaukee trisection, who was selling poems. Essentially, he was begging change, but since he was offering something in return… I bought one off of him.

I thought, briefly, about taking his picture… but that seemed to add a great deal of humiliation into the situation, and it’s not something I wanted to do.

A bit farther down North, I stop in to Reckless Records and picked up a copy of Röyksopp’s "Melody A.M." It all started from this thread on twelvestone, and me getting hooked on the video for Remind Me.
