La Roche, We Hardly Knew Ye

Lunch is always a tricky thing for us at work. What to eat? Where to go? We try to vary our cuisine choices, but it’s often difficult given our immediate surroundings and options.
One of the places we would go to, every so often, was La Roche – an Indian joint sort of tucked away, right next to Monk’s Pub. What made it cool was that it was hidden away, off the street. And unless you knew it was there, it wasn’t obvious at all. The restaurant itself was underground, and you had to crack open a few doors and wind your way down some stairs to get to the place.
This was, in fact, where I had my first ever meal with Ben and Justin… ages ago.
Unfortunately, today we found out that La Roche no longer exists. There’s some kind of canopy doorway near the entrance, and it looks like there’s a new bar slated to open in its stead.
Lunch today was a little depressing. This great secret of an Indian place is now officially gone. Where are we going to go now, that allows us to catch Bollywood flicks while we eat? Where?
