Blue Line Accident

There was a pretty serious Blue Line accident tonight, right during rush hour. We started hearing some reports (Liz called me from a bus, after having spent some 40 minutes stuck on a train). And though it was a bit hazy – the general sense was that a fire broke out, and all the northbound trains were stopped.

Chris was trying to figure out a way home, and I suggested he hitch with me. My sister was in town (with my neice Jasmine and my cousin Joanne), and they were spending the afternoon at the aquarium.

Traffic downtown was a bit nutty. People everywhere, sirens going off from ambulances, police cars, and fire trucks. Three helicopters overhead, just sort of hovering…

Luckily, Liz was close to the Mart and jumped off the bus to join me and Chris. A few minutes later, my sister swung by, picked us all up, and headed back towards the neighborhood.
