A.A. Bondy: Black Rain

Ok, I could have sworn that I’ve posted this video on here before… but a few quick searches seem to suggest otherwise. Very odd. I guess after maintaining this site for over 10 years, the memory kind of goes as to what’s been shared here versus Facebook or Twitter or what have you. But I really thought I had pasted this one up already.

Lately, perhaps due to the uptick in rain, I’ve been listening to A. A. Bondy a lot more. I found him after my friend Brian mentioned him ages ago, and I got enamored with Bondy’s album American Hearts.

This song, especially, seems a fitting one for my commutes lately. I find myself getting a little down whenever I throw this album on, but lately… I’ve been getting into Bondy’s voice and melodies, and have kept free from sinking too low due to the words.

On a colder evening, I could see digging into a bottle of scotch for a few hours and just letting these songs go on repeat. But for whatever reason, I’ve found myself staying atop the surface of these songs. Maybe it’s the rain, maybe it’s the way the clouds are suggesting that they’ll break and part sometime soon.
