Dawn of a New Era: Phineas Jumps on the Bed
Lately, we’ve left the gate down that separates Phineas’ area with our bedroom. He’s gotten more adventurous and walks around a lot… but this past weekend, we hit a new high point.
Liz and set up a small box near the bed, and Phineas used that as a stepping stone to get up onto the bed!
Here he is, exploring around. He had a few moments where he got a little too close to the edge, but he’s done a fine job since of navigating around without slipping off.
This was taken during one of his moments of exploration.
Phineas, in all his majestic glory. He seems to have gotten quite used to being up here, and has also been comfortable enough a few times to just stretch out (a true sign that he’s at ease).
On a few occasions, he’s also done a “binky” or two. And gotten so excited that he sprinted off the side and fell when running back down to the floor.
I think we will be need of a more permanent/stable solution, for allowing him access to the bed. But we’ll see how that goes. So far, he’s jumped up straight from the floor once (but still needs a step to get back down).

That first picture of him is the best – totally shows his large, silly personality with that white chest and slight head tilt.
